External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday inaugurated an exhibition titled ‘The Human Cost of Terrorism’ at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, calling for global solidarity to combat terrorism and expose state sponsorship behind such acts.

Speaking at the event, Jaishankar paid tribute to victims and survivors, stating, “Terrorism anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere.” He underscored the exhibition as more than just a display, calling it “a gallery of human courage” and a powerful reminder of lives interrupted and lost.

He further stressed the urgency of united international action, highlighting the need for “zero tolerance” for terrorism and citing the UN Security Council’s recent condemnation of a terror attack in Pahalgam.

Calling for greater accountability, Jaishankar said, “The world must come to some basic concepts: no impunity to terrorists, no treating them as proxies, and no yielding to nuclear blackmail.” He firmly stated that any form of state-sponsored terrorism must be exposed and unequivocally condemned.
